SENIOR WATCH PROGRAM

The Village of Silver Lake Police Department offers a Senior Watch Program to Village residents.  This program is designed to provide security for older adults, homebound individuals, and people with special needs by checking on their welfare on a weekly basis.

The following are the qualifications needed in order to enroll in this program:

    1) The senior must want to be visited.

    2) The senior must live alone.

    3) The exception to not living alone:  Husband or wife is bedridden or severely disabled.

    4) The person may be elderly or disabled.

There are several benefits for Village residents that enroll in the Senior Watch Program:

    1) The residents are provided with an added sense of security.

    2) The police officers become familiar with the seniors in the area.

    3) The seniors become less intimidated by uniforms and are more likely to report a crime   committed against them.

    4) Officers may detect problems before they become an emergency crisis.

Please contact the Police Department at (330) 928-7573 to enroll in this program.
