The
Village of Silver Lake is a beautiful community made up of tree-lined
streets and gorgeous lakes located in Summit County and nestled between the
cities of Cuyahoga Falls and Stow.
The Village of
Silver Lake has a rich and colorful history. The Village began as an
amusement park that included an airport and racetrack. At the height
of its success, the park had 10,000 visitors a day. The park was
sold in 1917 and subdivided for residential building. The Village
was incorporated in 1918.
The Village is
home to approximately 2,700 residents. Silver Lake Residents enjoy a
multitude of educational, recreational, and cultural opportunities.
Village residents can find quality academics at institutions such as Kent
State University and the University of Akron; enjoy a stroll in the
MetroParks; attend an Akron Aeros game; or take pleasure in listening to a
musical event at Blossom Music Center.

Residents currently enrolled in
the Village's natural gas program supplied by Vectren Source will pay a
fixed rate of $6.511/Mcf for all gas consumed during the months of April
2010 through
October 2010.

Registration now available to Ohioans.
Any holder of a
valid Ohio driver's license, commercial driver's license, temporary permit
or state of Ohio identification card will now have the option of providing
the name and information of a contact person they wish to be notified in the
event the individual is involved in a crash or emergency and is otherwise
unable to communicate with the contact person.
J&J Refuse does not collect
trash on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving
Day, and Christmas Day. Should any of these legal holidays fall on any
weekday, your collection day will move to Saturday.
